*NB: This is the minimum space needed for one axe throwing lane. Additional space will be needed for spectators to stand outside of this area. Also, larger events may require more throwing lanes and therefore a larger space.
We can set up and run a pop-up axe throwing activity at your festival.
Each session includes all the equipment, coaching and safety guidance to ensure a safe, competitive and highly entertaining event!
Our Axe Coach, Pete “The Axe Thrower” George, has coached over ten thousand first-time axe throwers
Pete will help each thrower to find a throwing style that suits them best and also introduce them to a variety of fun throwing games
Our axe throwing targets are robustly constructed, with the target at eye height
They are made with end-grain blocks to aid sticking, as per traditional axe throwing
We provide up to 2 targets (depending on space), although extra targets can be provided at additional cost
We have a variety of axes to suit different throwing styles and to reflect the variations in the axe throwing world
You can choose between a medieval style tomahawk or a competition standard throwing hatchet – although we often find most people prefer the standard DIY hatchet!
We will assess each venue to ensure adequate safety equipment is provided to protect throwers and the location
As necessary, we will provide safety netting to surround the targets, rubber matting to protect hard floors and appropriate throwing/safety line markings
We work hard to ensure that there are no accidents of any kind, but for extra peace of mind we are also insured for up to £5 million for any claims made by the public for injuries or damage to property
We will do our own risk assessment for each location and provide appropriate mitigation of risks, eg safety equipment
We will provide you with a risk assessment document if required. This may be useful, particularly if you are hiring a venue
Each session is tailored to the specific occasion (we are happy to include particular requests if we can), but the basic session will include:
